It’s daunting! I’m all over the place, desperately trying to get my head around my blogs, my photography, my home, and the world itself! I really don’t know where and how to start all of this, but today I’m diving in and taking my first baby step to say “HELLO WORLD”. My name is Malisa, household engineer making a career change into photography, which I been learning and living for the last 5 years. My second focus in life is food!! Now that the kids are all grown up and pushed out of the nest, with the exception of my Roma (a 95 pound Doberman), I can dedicate myself to learning to create dishes that look good in pictures, and then enjoy the tasty makings. Flowers and food are my specialty, but I love to photograph life around me. I love color, landscapes, pets and animals, architecture and anything that may tell a story my photos. I really hope you’ll join me in my journey, and as I post, I would love feedback and critique. I would also love to get to know you too and share experiences.
Most of my photography goes to stock sites, which has been a great way to learn and improve the quality of my photos. Most of these sites are strict with their requirements for sharp and well composed pictures, so in the beginning, my rejection rate was fairly high. Over time I have managed to get most of my photos accepted and my sales are increasing slowly. I still have so much to learn, and this old brain doesn’t take in data and info like it used to – but, I am persistent and won’t give up. There is still a huge learning curve and challenge with the programs I use, such as Photoshop and Lightroom, then the continuing technical aspects of my camera, lenses and equipment – of which I have managed to accumulate a bunch of stuff I still don’t know how to use. My goals in the next few weeks are to finish creating this web site, create an e-commerce site for my photos, blog more consistently, keep on absorbing information, and also work on my food blog page, www. Cozycomfyfood.com. Below are some of the stock pictures I worked on last week. I hope to share more!! I also hope you’ll visit my galleries and there will be update on new photos often.
